JSI research Inc has taken the initiative to discover both small and large molecule heterocycles and macrocycles, and biosimilar compounds for drug discovery. JSI plans to prepare and use large screening libraries of synthetic macrocyclic/heterocyclic compounds and will also use the DEL (DNA Encoded Library) techniques to identify and optimize multiple lead candidates that will progress to late-stage clinical trials. With more than 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery and development, we are taking ambitious plans for successful lead and clinical candidate generation and will eventually use the techniques of nanotechnology (nanomedicine) that would address the global healthcare deficiencies of various earlier efforts in addressing the neurodegenerative, oncology, and flavivirus diseases.

With the stresses of the modern world, environmental pollution (toxins), and aging of the global population, neurodegenerative diseases and dementia have become both significant health concerns and clinical challenges. This is leading to record levels of neuroscience investment and research activity. With our commitment to improving global healthcare, JSI is dedicated to discovering “magic bullet” drugs and efficient detection tools for improving Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. We are also developing essential specialized research chemicals that will make this field of disease research a successful journey.

On the other hand, saccharides/Glycans regulate development from fertilization to birth and contribute to almost all human diseases.  JSI plans to study the role of both simple and complex glycans and the relevant molecules they are linked to in critical stages of development, as well as in a broad range of human diseases.  These diseases include cancer, diabetes, muscular dystrophies, neurodegeneration, and neurodevelopmental disorders. We plan to study these using various saccharides for our own research and will also generate essential carbohydrate-based research chemicals to ameliorate research in this field.

The laboratory-based synthesis of oligosaccharides is more complicated than those of the syntheses of peptides and oligonucleotides. Many challenging problems are yet to be addressed. At JSI Research, we are focused on developing new and efficient glycosylation procedures including combinatorial and solid-phase chemistry. We are also planning to develop new approaches to control anomeric selectivity and will design new protecting groups and the chemo-enzymatic synthetic approaches of oligosaccharides and glycoconjugates. The long-term objective of our research is the development of novel carbohydrate-based drugs and vaccines.
